Kenworth Truck Review

Louis Gerlinger, Jr and his brother, George T started a car and truck dealership called Gerlinger Motor Car Works in 1912 based out of Portland, Oregon. They pioneered the use of a powerful inline six-cylinder engine in a commercial truck. This truck was unveiled in 1915 and was used in logging because of the structural steel frame and powerful engine. In 1917, Edgar K. Worthington and Captain Frederick Kent bought the company from Louis Gerlinger.

The name of the company was changed in 1923 by taking the first 3 letters from Kent and the first five from Worthington. The company sold 80 trucks the following year. In 1933, Kenworth became the first truck company in the United States to change entirely from gasoline engine to diesel internal combustion engines. Keeping ahead of other truck companies, they produced the first cab-over-engine model in 1957.

A subsidiary of PACCAR, Kenworth manufactures semi-trucks, medium and heavy-duty class 8 trucks and formerly was a manufacturer of transit buses and school buses.

Kenworth has been a pioneer in the trucking industry and produced better trucks by using state-of-the-art aerodynamics and modern technology in their designs and the over all nuts and bolts operations and service. Kenworth has great looking trucks with sleek designs and the elegant red and silver bug logo comes to mind when talking about the best trucks in the world. The aim of Kenworth is to produce quality trucks that provide the best use to the trucker and his company

Kenworth takes seriously the needs of truckers and does everything to enhance the performance of it's trucks. Many truckers, both new and used owners, are loyal to Kenworth because of their superb customer service and support as well as quality products. The Kenworth name stands for superior quality in trucks with well-trained employees and modern technology to keep them ahead of the rest. In 2005, Kenworth received five J. D. Power and Associates awards and was a clear sweep in the 2007 J.D. Power Awards for Heavy Duty Truck Product Satisfaction.

Some of the popular models are T300, T600, T660, T800 and the T2000 but the W900 model, with its long nose, has been the most popular Kenworth of owners over the years.

The initial purchase price of a Kenworth is more expensive than most other semi trucks. Educated semi truck owners realize that upfront cost is a component that determines which truck delivers the best return on their investment. Year after year, Kenworth used trucks consistently receive the highest in resale value for class 8 trucks. These trucks also deliver low operating costs. The world's best truck delvers the greatest investment value of semi truck in its class.

The PremierCare program lets Kenworth semi truck owners know about maintenance and other services available to them on new and used trucks no matter where they reside. Kenworth has a great network that helps to ensure the owner can receive parts and service
